The project represents a platform and a wallet, which will be the first wallet for the implementation of the blockchain or BCP communication protocol. It's able to send, receive and exchange any cryptocurrencies from one address. The goal of the project is to eliminate three main today's blockchain problems when it comes to sending, receiving and exchanging tokens. What highlights this project among others:
- ease for a user with an IOV wallet and for value names attribution;
- security for the user with a usage of the Atomic Cross Swap function of the IOV wallet;
- ease for blockchain entrepreneurs, which provides an opportunity to link their new blockchain to the ecosystem thanks to a system of project names and deployment tools.
Risks and disadvantages
This project uses many ideas that other projects try to solve and in this case, it's quite a big shortcoming but the team applies a lot of decisions that in conjunction can help to implement cryptocurrency payment instruments in real life by simplifying wallets addresses and creating transitions between different blockchains to make instant transitions between different cryptocurrencies possible.
Now it's difficult to say would this project be successful, but we can say now that many of the solutions which implemented in the project are quite relevant and necessary for the market and under certain circumstances, it can help the project to gain mass recognition and high popularity.
IOV Technology is explained in many details in the Technical Whitepaper. The roadmap is informative and there is also the technical roadmap, which provides more details. Token lockup is designed to provide more security to investors.
Risks and disadvantages
The first beta version release was planned for Q2 2018, but I can't find information about how successsful it was.
We can see on the news feed that the project evolves, the team was rewarded during the event, which took place in Paris on May 24th.
The platform will be convenient for users, it will provide a possibility to register human readable addresses, which will allow to eliminate errors like sending currency to a wrong address. Transaction fees will always be paid with IOV, which will create constant demand for tokens.
Risks and disadvantages
As for now activity on social media is quite low.
The level of competition is high in this sphere. It will not be an easy choice for investors, who are committed to this idea. I think the team should use most common ways to present their vision, such as social media, publications in press, as well to find other ways for creating like-minded community.
The cost of the IOV token is affordable and the incentives to be given to the members of the community will bring in long term investment investors.
Risks and disadvantages
The population on the currently used social media platforms is low and the needed awareness might not be reached by the small number of people currently involved. Token locking hasn't been considered.
In the near future it's going to be important for people on various blockchains plus wallet holders to interact beyond their blockchains to maximize profiting and also carrying out transactions therefore this strategy will have a very impact and will be important.
Discounts to early buyers will pool in a number of investors. Two major cryptocurrencies are accepted on the platform implying that the tokens value is more likely to stay strong. the business module is very efficient especially in this skyrocketing use of the blockchain technology.
Risks and disadvantages
There isn't any press team attached to the platform so the image o the project will not have any reliable means to address the public and influence what people think of the project. The team has no advisors which becomes a challenge when it comes to taking serious decisions.
The crowd funding is going to be successful because the bonus distribution has been done in a good way. The possibility of sharing data and resources over the blockchains has been made possible.
Detailed road map proves that the project understands the market it is planning to sell into. Award-winning and influential Co-Founders who match a range of skillsets for strength in depth.
Risks and disadvantages
The Team of only Co-founders. This project needs to be managed by a team who are demonstrating a first-rate ability to cover all the angles. There is not a beta version yet. A lack of buzz around community and media and there isn't a track of budget allocation, how much is reserved for Marketing campaign? The Project definitely needs a line up of experienced advisors.
IOV's potential is great, but execution is a key and it is unclear from what we see now.
What is IOV?
IOV provides the Blockchain Communication Protocol (BCP) that enables a global ecosystem of autonomous blockchains to be accessed efficiently. The BCP standardizes communication between blockchains and client software creating a more scalable and robust interchange of blockchain based information.
IOV provides also a decentralized blockchain database called the Blockchain Name Service (BNS), the first DNS for all the active Blockchains. Blockchain Name Service lists all active blockchains, their respective tokens and the IP addresses of their bootstrap nodes.

What is IOV’s long-term vision?
Anyone should be able to exchange any kind of values without any third party. IOV will provide the IOV Wallet, which allows access to myriad of blockchains in order to create, send, receive or exchange any kind of value.
Where is IOV based?
IOV is a global movement and also a company. The company is based in Paris, France.
I want to launch an ICO. Can I use IOV?
Yes! We will provide an easy tool for anyone who wants to deploy its own blockchain and run its own ICO in one click.
What is the Blockchain Name Service ?
The Blockchain Name Service is a blockchain that will list all the active blockchains in the world, as well as their respective tokens and their bootstrap nodes. Right now, there is no such blockchain, but with the observed rise in the number of blockchains, the crypto world needs it.
The easiest way to understand the purpose of the Blockchain Name Service, is to make an analogy with the role of the DNS (Domain Name System) on the Internet as we use it today: it lists all domain names and websites and allows anyone to connect to any website by using a simple comprehensive URL, such as www.iov.one, instead of 22.214.171.124. The Blockchain Name Service is like the DNS for Blockchains. It allows anybody to access any token on any blockchain by using a simple, unified and decentralized approach.
What kind of blockchain is the Blockchain Name Service?
The Blockchain Name Service is a proof-of-stake blockchain that includes Tendermint, a state of the art PBFT algorithm.
Why do we need to list all the active blockchains?
We don't want to force the listing of all the blockchains in the world. We want to create a democratic and decentralized service that allows anyone in the world to make their blockchain available to anybody, by making it compatible with a set of standardized tools. The ultimate goal is to have a directory of all active blockchains, so that anyone can exchange any kind of values in the world using a secured, decentralized and intuitive user experience.
When will the Blockchain Name Service be launched?
The first prototype of the Blockchain Name Service, which will include the registration or update of Token Definitions, is scheduled for June 2018. The definitive version is planned for the end of 2018.
What is the Blockchain Communication Protocol?
The Blockchain Communication Protocol is a set of standards to be implemented by blockchains so that the exchange of values between them can be done in a global and easy way. Because the blockchain technology is somewhat new, there are still some crucial limitations when it comes to its expansion. There is no global standard in the way each blockchain is created and this creates a problem when it comes to interoperability. That is why a set of specifications to be implemented by all blockchains can be very helpful.
How can the Blockchain Communication Protocol help end-users?
Instead of having the need to download a new wallet every time a user wants to have a different token, it would be possible to store and exchange multiple types of values always in the same wallet.
How can the Blockchain Communication Protocol help blockchain creators?
he Blockchain Communication Protocol ensures that blockchains can be interoperable within the IOV ecosystem. Creators will have their tokens and their blockchains visible by everyone and exchanged in a simple way, always through the same wallet. There will be no need to start from scratch every time a blockchain is going to be created.
IOV will provide a developer kit to make the use of the Blockchain Communication Protocol a seamless experience for blockchain creators. Even though some blockchains may require changes to implement the Blockchain Communication Protocol, the system is designed to be backwards compatible with many existing chains. This way, these chains can implement the IOV protocol without having to break any current transactions.
Does the Blockchain Communication Protocol support atomic cross swaps?
Thanks to the atomic cross swap IOV technology, it will be possible to make blockchain interoperable and to exchange tokens without the need to use a third-party exchange. Atomic swaps, also known as atomic cross-chain trading, make it possible for two parties to exchange one token for a different one, without the need to involve a third-party. It is a smart contract technology that is cryptographically powered and by leveraging atomic swaps, the risk of one party evading the payment of another is eliminated. It results in a system that makes inter-blockchain transactions secure for all parties involved.
Does the Blockchain Communication Protocol support multi-signature?
Yes, the Blockchain Communication Protocol includes a multisig specification.
Does the Blockchain Communication Protocol support ERC20 Tokens?
Yes, we plan to implement backward compatibility with ERC20 Tokens so the Blockchain Communication Protocol can handle ERC20 after we launch the Blockchain Name Service.
What blockchains are being supported by Blockchain Communication Protocol?
IOV will provide a set of tools to create Proof of Stake blockchains implementing the Blockchain Communication Protocol. Later, we plan to build backwards-compatible tools to make Ethereum work with the Blockchain Communication Protocol.
What are the deployment tools provided by IOV?
The IOV community will provide a blockchain template that implements the Blockchain Communication Protocol, as well as sufficient deployment tooling. The goal is to deploy a blockchain or run an ICO in a way that is as simple as the press of a button.
All blockchains provisioned by the IOV toolset will be automatically compatible with the Blockchain Communication Protocol.
What is the IOV Wallet?
The IOV Wallet will be the first wallet to implement the Blockchain Communication Protocol, so the end-user can have a great user-experience to send and receive any kind of values without any third-party.
The IOV Wallet has some key differences when compared to other existing cryptocurrency wallets. It uses a human value address that is simple to remember (like john*newyork.value instead of a complicated public such as 1BvBMSEYstWetqTFn5Au4m4GFg7xJaNVN2). It also makes it possible to query balances from as many blockchains as the user wants and to make transfers and exchanges between different blockchains (as long as the blockchains implement the IOV specification).
It is important to understand that the IOV Wallet is like the first browser of the Internet. Existing web browsers can implement the Blockchain Communication Protocol. Therefore, it is completely envisioned in a way that current existing web browsers will be able to easily implement the Blockchain Communication Protocol, allowing their users to exchange value as they browse a website.
